Free Workshop on Climate Change

Pennsylvania Power and Light are offering a Climate Change Workshop!

Come to a free workshop in State College on Sunday, February 8, from 2-4 p.m.

At this interactive event, you will meet other people of faith who are concerned about climate change. You will gain concrete tools to begin speaking to others in your community. And, you will learn about PA IPL’s work right here in the Centre region. We believe that climate change is a moral challenge, and that people of faith have a special responsibility to respond.

Your facilitators for this event are Cricket Hunter and Jon Brockopp. Cricket is the executive director of PA IPL, a mother of 2, and active member of Grace Lutheran. She holds a master’s degree in science education and is a former science teacher. Jon is associate professor of religious studies and history at Penn State. An educator with 25 years of experience, he is an expert on comparative religious ethics. Jon also directs an Initiative on Religion and Ethics for Penn State’s Rock Ethics Institute.

Come on Sunday, February 8, 2-4 p.m. to Grace Lutheran Church (corner of Garner and Beaver Ave.) in State College. We’ll be in the Fireside Room, down the hall from the sanctuary. Registration is free and will help us to contact you in case we have to cancel due to icy roads.
