Just breathe . . .

I know there is a lot going on right now for nearly all of you.

You have way too much to do and it seems like you don’t have anywhere near enough time or energy for it all.

Don’t panic.  Just breathe.

In Genesis, we hear that when God created humanity out of the dust of the earth, God then bestowed life with a breath.

In the John, we hear that after the resurrection, Jesus appeared to his frightened disciples, said “Peace be with you” and breathed the holy spirit on them.

In Acts, we hear that the Holy Spirit, in a rush like a mighty wind, empowered the disciples to share the news of Jesus in languages they’d never known before.

Just breathe.

Let God fill you with hope and strength and the things you need for all you must do.  –ara

Prayer

God of life,

In times like these, when I am so overwhelmed that I can’t seem to make time to pray,  make each breath a prayer.

Help me to breathe in your peace and healing, calm and confidence, focus and hope.

Help me to breathe out apprehension and fear, uncertainty and panic.

Let each breath remind me that you are the source of my life, the center of creation, and the one who is with me through every challenge and joy.

Let each breath renew my trust in you, my trust in your love for me, and my trust that you are working in my life.

Amen.
