O God,
It can be so easy to look away from the needs around me.
I have so much to deal with of my own.
Yet, you call me to see the needs of others.
You ask me to notice their struggles and burdens, and to respond.
Open my eyes to see your hurting children.
Open my heart to reach out in care and compassion.
Help me to realize that in serving others, I am serving you.
Amen.
