Questions, Not Answers – 12/4 at 7 pm

QNA – Questions, not Answers is a monthly inter-generational discussion for students and community members on Sunday at 7 pm in the Fireside Room. You will find a wide variety of perspectives and thoughts!  Paula Droege who teaches in the Philosophy department facilitates the conversation. Plus, there is dinner, especially for students!

Our next gathering is on Sunday, December 5th. Questions for discussion include, but are not limited to:

  • If you were god, would you want an intelligent species to develop religion?
  • Is religion actually beneficial to a species?
  • If you decided to take an active role in their development, would it be better to choose a few “prophets” who are inspired to develop the fields of science, logic, philosophy, etc. rather than a religion centered on a higher being?

If you have questions or suggestions for future topics, contact Alicia Anderson at ara2@psu.edu.

In the Gospels that Jesus asks more than 300 questions and he is asked nearly 200, but he directly answered only a handful of them  So, come to QNA to continue the biblical tradition of asking good, complicated questions, and be prepared to leave without answers.
