Job Overview
Lutheran Campus Ministry at Penn State is a small, faith-based nonprofit serving the Penn State community – particularly the student population. The main responsibilities of this position are financial and other record keeping, database management, and helping to facilitate connection and relationship building with alumni, friends & supporters. The estimated hours are 12-15 per month with flexibility in scheduling.
Responsibilities and duties
- Process donations and record donor data using online database Little Green Light
- Compile and maintain donor mailing information
- Develop and send donor acknowledgements
- Maintain basic office filing and related recordkeeping
- Maintain financial filing and related recordkeeping
- Assist with regular communications including newsletters, e-mails, social media and other outlets
- Assist, plan, and provide follow-up for virtual gatherings of alumni and friends
- Work with Campus Minister and board members on development strategies
Qualifications
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, etc., Gmail, Google Drive; and a willingness to learn Little Green Light, MailChimp and other software as needed
- Ability to maintain and manage a database system
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to craft communications
- Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize deadlines & effectively manage priorities
- Ability to proactively approach projects
- Ability to handle sensitive confidential information responsibly and appropriately
- Comfortable working in a faith-based environment
- Primarily work remotely with a willingness to occasionally provide in-person office support
Education and Experience
Associates degree in business/administration or related field or equivalent years of experience
Prefer 2 years office experience
