Join LSC and other groups from across the ELCA for “God’s Work. Our Hands. Sunday” on September 8th!
It will be a busy Sunday! But you can do just part or the whole thing!
Worship – Each fall, Grace Lutheran Church goes on the road and moves the 10:30 am worship service to the mountain one Sunday! Here’s how it works – come to the church (205 South Garner Street) at 10:30 am and we’ll have students and others who will help transport groups of students to Tussey Mountain for worship. This will be a casual, outdoor service, so dress accordingly! Music is provided by Psalm 151, the worship team from 6 pm worship.
Picnic – Immediately after worship, you are welcome to a huge church picnic! There will be an abundance of food, grilled dogs of many kinds and lots of welcoming people! If you need to get back to campus, there some cars will be available to take you back.
Service – We’ll be working with folks from Grace Lutheran Church doing service at East Fairmount Park (not far from campus) from 2 pm to 4 pm. We’ll be laying mulch, staining benches and doing some pruning and whatever else they need to have done at the park. Rides to the service project will be available from the picnic at Tussey Mountain, or you can meet others at Grace Lutheran at 1:45 pm.
Just email lutheran@psu.edu for more info or to sign up for the afternoon service project, or to offer to help with driving! You don’t have to sign up to come to worship or the picnic!
