O God,
When I struggle with loss or sorrow, you are there, caring for me.
When I face pain sadness, you are touched by my pain.
When I grieve the death of someone dear to me, your care and compassion surround me.
Help me to feel your presence when I am hurting.
Help me to know your love in my struggle and sorrows.
Help me to feel your comfort.
Help me to see that your light continues through the deepest night.
Help me to know that death will not triumph.
