During the spring of 2021, my boyfriend and I road-tripped through the great state of Alaska. We started our journey in Anchorage, where we picked up our rental car, a mammoth Toyota 4-Runner. It had a pop-up tent on top of it and a trunk stocked with a small table and chairs, cooking utensils, and even a portable grill. From there, we ventured across the state.

Some highlights included our visit to Denali National Park, where we were lucky enough to see the peak of Mount Denali, and Valdez, where we hiked across a glacier. We concluded our trip with an overnight stay on a Nikiski beach (situated on the Kenai peninsula) overlooking the ocean and a vast mountain range. That night, I saw the most beautiful sunset of my life. It looked as though God had painted the sky in creamy shades of orange, yellow, and blue. I am so thankful that I was able to explore the “last frontier” in good company.
