Ever been curious about a Jewish Sabbath/Shabbat Service?
Well, on Friday, May 29th, Rabbi David Ostrich at Brit Shalom in State College will host us as we “visit” their service.
It is a special Shabbat in celebration of Shavuot, the Biblical Feast of Weeks which celebrates the giving of the Ten Commandments. We can gather with Rabbi David via zoom at 6 pm (before the service begins) and he will explain a bit about the history and structure of the service and answer any questions we may have. Then, we’ll join the Jewish community via Zoom for Shabbat service at 7 pm. We can do a little debrief afterward.
This is a great opportunity to get a glimpse of our neighbors’ faith and you will find Rabbi David Ostrich to be a delightful person who explains Judaism well and is very open to interfaith conversation.
