Worship and Dinner at Pasquerilla Spiritual Center Thursday nights!
At 5:45 pm, Evening Prayer worship begins! If you arrive early and want to relax in the couches in the lobby, you may find other LSC folks doing the same! This relaxed worship service is a great time to set aside the demands of the week and join in prayer together. Holy Communion is shared, and you are welcome!
Dinner follows right after worship (around 6:30 pm), so plan to eat – or if you can’t make worship, come to dinner anyway! Tonight we’ll have chicken, broccoli, rice and cheese casserole (there is a meat-free version for the vegetarians!) plus salad and dessert!
What’s this worship service like? Here’s a description: We’ll worship in the gigantic Worship Hall by creating a smaller, more intimate worship space with chairs and a table in the front. As we begin, there will be a chance to share things you’d like to pray about and meet the people you are worshipping with. The setting of Evening Prayer we’ll use is called Holden Evening Prayer and it is very easy to sing, and nice to listen to if you prefer to be quiet. There will be a couple chances to read lessons from Psalms and Luke aloud, and we’ll have some reflection time where you can talk a bit, or only listen. When it comes time to share communion, we’ll give the bread and wine to each other, around the circle. After our prayers and songs and reflections and eucharist are done, we will gather up our belongings and the the things we’ve used in worship, and make our way to the Garden Room. There we will share dinner and conversation together. It is always a fun, reflective, lively, and sometimes irreverent time. And we are sure God is pleased. Come and see!
