Remembering September 11, 2001

Remembering September 11, 2001 with a deep sadness for the death and brokenness that day, and with a deep gratitude for the compassion, commitment and generosity that were poured out for days and days and days following. May we each find ways to help heal what is broken in our world, and may we each treasure every precious day we live.
“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon …
Where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much
seek to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved, as to love. . . ” – St Francis of Assisi
