Interested in International Work?

The ELCA’s Young Adults in Global Mission program may be just what you are looking for!

We will host Brita Fagerlund at Penn State on Thursday, November 20th!

Brita spent a year with the Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM) program with our ELCA connections in Senegal – a vibrant country on the cost of West Africa known for its community values of Teranga.

On Thursday, November 20 Brita will be at Thursday Evening Worship (6 pm) and dinner afterward (7 pm) at Pasquerilla Spiritual Center. Brita will share about her time in Senegal and talk about her experiences of cultural exchange, personal growth and how saying “Yes” to YAGM might be the right step for you and your peers!

Come meet Brita Thursday at Evening Worship and dinner.  Ask questions or just connect!

If Thursday evening doesn’t work in your schedule, one-on-one conversations can be arranged while Brita is on campus or online afterward!  Just contact Alicia Anderson (campus minister) for more info!

More about Brita: From the prairies of Minnesota and North Dakota, Brita loves being active in body and conversation especially with Woo* being one of her top Strengths*. In her free time, you can find Brita checking out local community hubs such as club sports, coffee shops, and your recommendations of the best bites in town! Her simple joys include the Midwest car wave, a perfect shot in Trash-Can Basketball, and sending friends her newest favorite song to jam out to.

MORE ABOUT YAGM The ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission program invites ELCA young adults ages 21-35 into a transformative, year-long journey in international service. Young adults serve in the spirit of accompaniment, walking alongside global companions in a manner that practices mutuality, interdependence and solidarity. Areas of service include, but are not limited to, health and development, congregational ministry, human rights, education, homelessness, addiction recovery, women’s issues and children and youth. All site placements provide opportunities for young adults to confront issues of wealth and poverty, racial privilege, economic disparity and globalization, all through the lens of faith.
