Weekly Prayer 11/3

Help us, O God.

On this election day, protect all who are voting from illness and from danger.

Strengthen and protect all who are working at polls and counting votes.

Guide those who are reporting and sharing news and information to share truth.

Fill us all with patience as we wait while votes are counted.

Quiet voices of anger and intimidation within us and from others.

Calm our fears and ease our anxiety

Give us confidence in our system, and a critical eye for misuse.

Move our nation smoothly through this day.

Remind us that no matter what the outcome of this or any election, you are creator and ruler of the entire world.

Amen.

O God, you crafted the universe as a divine tapestry in which the well-being of the entire cosmos is forever intertwined. In this election season, give us hearts and minds focused on nurturing all that you have made. Forgive us when we are unjust or accept unjust behavior in our leaders. Remind us of your call to not withdraw from the world, but to be in the world as your very own broken and beloved people. Ignite in us a passion for the welfare of those who are most vulnerable, and empower us to lead with a love that reflects your love revealed in Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
