“I will always remember fondly my time as an exchange student in Ecuador. It was a year of many ups and downs, but I am so grateful for the incredible people and fantastic adventures that made the year so special. I lived with a host family, went to high school (again!), spoke lots of Spanish, and got to soak in the beauty of Ecuador. I learned to say “yes” to new and unfamiliar things, to relax and enjoy time with loved ones, and to cook lots of delicious foods! I saw God constantly, but most memorably was when I looked up at the night sky outside my family’s house, which was free from pollution and made me sing joyfully ‘how great Thou art!'”
