Guide those in authority.
Give them wisdom to see beyond their own assumptions and priorities.
Give them integrity to set aside self-interest.
Give them compassion to make decisions for the good of all.
Give them strength for the demands and challenges of their responsibilities.
Give them courage for uncertain and unclear times.
Use them to care for and protect your whole world.
Help me to see authority clearly.
Remind me that those in authority are simply human beings.
Help me to see their failings and struggles with compassion.
Guide me to question authority and to push for wise and honest leadership.
Guide me to question authority and to work for justice, compassion and peace.
When I am in positions of authority, help me to lead with integrity, compassion and courage.
