Spring Break 2020

Civil Rights Pilgrimage: Serving and Learning in Rural Alabama

This co-sponsored trip will take us to rural Alabama where we will help with tornado relief for families affected by storms in March 2019, and visit a variety of museums, national historic sites and memorials to learn about the civil rights struggle in the United States. We’ll use our hands to care for our neighbors and our minds to explore the impact of racial injustice.

We will build connections and relationships with Penn State students, the people with whom we serve, and people within the communities where we will be working and learning. We will find connection among differences of race, religion, region, and personality, for we are all children of God.
