Reformation Sunday At Grace Lutheran Church

Sunday Worship services on Reformation Sunday will be a little different!  Take your choice and come join the celebration!

Reformation 500 Services on Sunday, October 29 – Grace has many special plans to mark 500thanniversary of the Reformation on Sunday, October 29.   Here is the schedule for the day:

8:00 AM – Morning worship led by piano and flute

9:00 AM – Festival worship service with a large combined adult and youth choir and organ; Centre Brass will provide music before, during, and after the service

10:00 AM – Luther-era hymns sung by Crossfire youth choir in the circular entrance stairwell

10:30 AM – Luther’s Divine Service:  At 10:30 am, we will offer Luther’s Divine Service, a 1520s-style worship service in the style created by Martin Luther (but in English).  The entire service will be sung and chanted except for the sermon.  The Penn State Glee Club, directed by Christopher Kiver, will provide special music before and during the service as well as singing afterward.

11:30 AM – Reception in Harkins Hall with light luncheon foods, Renaissance-era lute music played by guitarist Richard Wylie, and a visit by Martin Luther

6:00 PM – Contemporary worship led by Psalm 151
