Why I do What I do with Dr. Richard Alley – January 31st

DiscernPSU presents “Why I do What I do” Spring 2017. The speaker of the hour is Dr. Richard Alley, Evan Pugh Professor in the Department of Geosciences at Penn State.  Dr Alley will speak on Tuesday, January 31st at 7 pm in the Memorial Lounge of Pasquerilla Spiritual Center and light refreshments will be provided.

Dr. Richard Alley has authored more than 240 scientific publications about the relationships between Earth’s cryosphere and global climate change. Alley has received many awards including the Heinz Award, the Seligman Crystal and was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2008. His many research interests include glaciology, ice and climate, sea level change and abrupt climate change.

DiscernPSU is an project dedicated to helping students look at the way their beliefs and values help shape their career, life choices, relationships and more. The project reaches out to the Penn State community to encourage students in discovering how they can use their faith-given abilities in their work.  This Lilly Endowment funded project is sponsored by Westmister Presbyterian Fellowship (State College Presbyterian Church) and Lutheran Campus Ministry at Penn State.
