needles for need

Alicia Anderson News 4 Comments

Do you knit or crochet?

You can help make hats or scarves for seafarers who are working in the international shipping industry and who are far from home.  Or you can make mittens for the Christmas mitten tree for kids right here in our community.

Want to know more? Have needle skills you are willing to share?  Have yarn you want to get rid of?  Contact Alicia Anderson, campus minister for more information!

  1. Hi Alicia,

I hope your semester is off to a good start!

I am a beginning knitter so I can do scarves efficiently but not other patterns.

Please let me know how I can be of help with your “needles for need” project.

    Warmly,
    Heather

      Hi Heather!
Sorry for the looong delay! I didn’t realize how to use the comment function until now!
We would love to have you knitting!!
We are picking up supplies at scraps and skeins, so let me know what you’d like to work on and we’ll get what you need!
      Peace,
      Alicia

  2. Hi Alicia,
I know how to knit and would love to donate my skills:) Do I have to buy my own yarn or is it supplied?

      Hi Audrey!
Sorry I didn’t see this note before – I didn’t know how to use the comment function!
I will be going to scraps and skeins to pick up supplies . . . I was going today, but with the weather, they are closed.
So, I will go next week – let me know what you want to work on and I’ll get what you need!!
      Thanks!
      Alicia
