You are getting ready to work very hard (and goof off a bit) finals week!!
Well, working hard at the end of the semestser is wise, and we fully support you in your academic life, but we’ve scheduled some study breaks so you can take some time away from the work, clear your mind, and have a little fun!
Sunday, April 29th
Worship at Grace Lutheran Church – 6 pm to 6:50 pm Come just as you are (backpack and all) for a casual, music-team led worship service. This week’s readings talk about God’s care and compassion for us . . . a welcome word for us this week!
Dinner after Worship in Fireside Room – 6:50 pm to 8 pm Home-cooked food (really!), silly questions and plenty of chances for laughter and fun. Dinner will be ready when you get there, so you are welcome to eat and run!
Night Prayer at Eisenhower Chapel at Pasquerilla Spiritual Center – 9 pm to 9:40 pm Gather for quiet and peaceful prayer with songs, silence and lots of candles. A perfect way to calm your troubled mind before finals week begins.
Monday, April 30th
Breakfast at Ye Olde College Diner – 9 am to 12:noon Come before or after your first exams and enjoy a classic breakfast . . . with our without the legendary grilled stickies! Alicia is buying! Not sure where to find us? Call or text Alicia at 814.360.0601.
Tuesday, May 1st
Study Break at the Creamery – 2 pm to 3 pm Get away from books, your computer, scantron sheets, study groups or whatever is stressing you and enjoy some Creamery Ice Cream – Chat, play cards, or just watch the people go by. The ice cream is on Alicia! Again, you can call or text Alicia at 814.360.0601.
Wednesday, May 2nd
Cookies in Pasquerilla 216 – 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm You can take a few minutes for a sweet snack! We’ll have cookies and milk in the LSC Lounge/Office in the upstairs hallway at Pasquerilla Spiritual Center. Apples and celery will be provided for those who over-ate on stickies and ice cream earlier in the week! The building is surprisingly confusing, so call or text Alicia 814.360.0601 if you need directions, or you can ask at the front desk.
Thursday, May 3rd
Evening Prayer in the Worship Hall at Pasquerilla Spiritual Center – 5:45 pm – 6:45 pm Whether you are finished or still waiting for a final on Friday, you will enjoy the music, readings, preaching and communion in a welcoming and casual setting. Gather before worship in the lounge at the main desk in Pasquerilla’s lobby.
Dinner after Worship in the Garden Room – 6:45 pm – 8 pm We’ll either enjoy a wonderful meal at Pasquerilla, or go to a local restaurant for a special treat . . . We’ll make the final decision on Thursday morning, so check back! Is there a favorite meal you’d like us to have? A cheap local restaurant we shouldn’t miss?
